Showjumping Riders

Peter Moloney

Irishman Peter Moloney, 19, is the latest rider to benefit from Peter Charles’ coaching and recently finished third, on Murka`s Vindicat W, in the National Grade C Championship at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.

`Little` Peter was born into a riding family in Waterford and came to England to further his ambitions.

`I expect to be based at Alton for at least another two or three years and hope to set up my own yard one day,” he says. “Eventually I’d like to breed horses but the main thing at the moment is competition and getting on to the Irish team for the European Championships.”

He mirrors Peter Charles` quest for experience despite having travelled in exactly the opposite direction to achieve it. He will be a vital member of the team as the Premier Show Jumping Club makes its mark.
